Gruen Precision
The Original Bond Watch
Unlike many fine timepieces on the market, Gruen is a collaboration of American ingenuity and Swiss excellence. For how briefly they were around, Gruen produced an unexpected number of iconic and innovative watches. Designing some of the best movements of the early 20th Century, Gruen’s mechanical innovations were used even by Rolex. The Gruen Precision is perhaps Gruen’s most important model. Not only does it have a sleek and accurate movement, but it also features an effortlessly elegant and timeless design. In fact, it’s so legendary that it was the first ever watch to be worn by James Bond on screen. This particular example stands out with a textured dial and art deco style indices. Its elegantly pointed hour and minute hands and smoothly sweeping seconds hand complement these features well. The dial and hands look as though they have barely aged in the time capsule that is the slim outer case. With engineering envied by the likes of Rolex, and style fit for 007, this timeless piece is a must-have for a daily dress watch and a fine collector’s timepiece.

What To Know
All of our watches keep good vintage time (within a few minutes per day) and have to meet a high standard of condition, both mechanically and aesthetically, to be included in our inventory. These watches are several decades old, and wear the battle scars of their many years of service with pride, giving each one its own unique character. Each watch is one of a kind, and once this one is sold there will never be another one exactly like it.
